the online live music gig guide for birmingham & the midlands

Peoples Republic Of Mercia

PRoM launch into 2007 with a growing reputation as one of the hottest rhythm and blues combos in the Midlands. Their high energy syle has invited comparisons with the classic 70s Canvey island sound pioneered by Dr Feelgood, and the edgy rock and roll of The Screaming Blue Messiahs. Recently described by one Midlands venue (Coxs Yard, Stratford) as "a class act", PRoM combine classic covers with some spikey riff driven numbers of their own creation.

The band is on the verge of releasing their second album pronisionaly entitled "Contains Songs Of Mild Peril" with a string of supporting dates through the Midlands and beyond, this includes high profile slots with Wilko Johnson, Eddie and The Hot Rods, Edgar Broughton, Juicy Lucy, and Dumpy's Rusty Nuts.

This is quirky rock and roll to get you boogying and humming, don't miss !
